DG Jones and Partners Supports the Next Generation of Engineers at Qassim University

DG Jones and Partners was honoured to take part in the 8th Scientific Engineering Symposium at Qassim University’s College of Engineering, an occasion that left an impression well worth sharing.

Implementing Effective Construction Project Controls for Optimal Performance

An industry is only ever as strong as the people who will one day carry it forward. For a firm that has practised for more than six decades, few responsibilities feel as meaningful as helping to prepare the engineers who will shape the built environment of tomorrow. It was in that spirit that our Riyadh team accepted the invitation from the College of Engineering to join a symposium themed “Engineering Quality of Life”.

Joe Aswad, Deputy General Manager, Akl Habchy, Director, and Khalid El Nodel, Consultant and a proud Qassim alumnus, spent the day among undergraduate and graduate students who are actively mapping out their engineering careers. The symposium showcased graduation projects and research alongside a career and employment exhibition, bringing academia and industry into the same room.

Engineering Talent That Inspires Confidence

What stood out was not the packed agenda or the impressive exhibition floor. It was the calibre of the conversations. Students posed sharp, thoughtful questions about the profession, career paths, and the real-world application of their discipline, revealing the kind of intellectual seriousness that leaves one genuinely confident about where engineering is headed.

The College of Engineering at Qassim University is producing graduates who are ready. Not almost ready, but ready. For us as practitioners, that matters a great deal. It is also a reminder that engagement between industry and academia is not merely good optics; it is essential to keeping the profession healthy, and it reflects the same conviction behind our collaborations with universities and the professional development we deliver through the DGJ Academy.

Supporting Saudi Engineers in Line with Vision 2030

Supporting the next generation of Saudi engineers sits at the heart of our corporate social responsibility, and it aligns naturally with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. As the Kingdom invests in a generation of homegrown talent to deliver its landmark projects, the partnership between established practitioners and emerging engineers becomes ever more important. It is a commitment we continue to deepen from our regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia, and one that shapes how we think about the careers we offer to the engineers of the future.

To the faculty, the organisers, and the students who took the time to connect with us, we extend our sincere thanks. And to the people of Qassim, whose warmth and hospitality made this a visit we will not forget, we are truly grateful.

DG Jones and Partners is proud to build these bridges. The next generation of engineers, on this evidence, is in very good hands.
