The Qatar Special Economic Zones Project consists of developing 3 major economic zones as well as several economic zones around Qatar. These 3 major zones are the following:

Qatar Economic Zone 1 (QEZ-1) – Ras Bufontas: Covering 4.01km2 of land, the Ras Bufontas Free Zone aims at business sectors such as logistics, consumer products, light manufacturing, and technology and applications and pharmaceuticals. With its close location to the highway and to Hamad International Airport-HIA, this zone is equipped with flexible and customized infrastructure and facilities. It includes housing accommodations, retail stores, health clinics, metro systems and parks.

Qatar Economic Zone 2 (QEZ-2)– Umm Alhoul: Covering 33.5km2 of land, Umm Alhoul Free Zone aims at businesses such as maritime industries, heavy manufacturing, emerging technologies, and logistics hub. It is close to the Hamad Port, which is known as the largest greenfield port, and a 30 minutes drive from Doha city, thus giving this zone an optimal and strategic location to access sea freight and shipping routes.

Qatar Economic Zone 3 (QEZ-3) – Al-Karaana: Covering 44 km2 of land, Al Karaana is planned to be Manateq’s largest project, presenting another favourable option. Strategically located halfway between Doha and Abu Sumra, on the border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this zone is a prosperous gateway to GCC markets, having all the required infrastructure to successfully serve global markets. It includes premium facilities, such as business incubator spaces, conference centres, storage facilities, and assigned area for labour accommodation, and an assigned logistics zone.

DG Jones extended the professional consultancy services which include the New Economic Zones for Qatar Free Zone Authority (QFZA) and Manateq projects and are still on board to date.
