BIM Authoring with Revit

Course Description

Revit is the world’s leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, and Revit 2027 is its biggest shift in years: a modernized interface, faster graphics, and the new Autodesk AI Assistant.
From the first session, participants begin modeling a small project, and every session adds a layer: setup, envelope, components, data, documentation. By the end, each participant has built a complete, data-rich digital project. Through hands-on sessions, they learn to set up a project, model walls, floors, roofs, and components, control views, and produce coordinated drawings and schedules.
Once participants can judge model output for themselves, the course introduces the Autodesk Assistant, Revit 2027’s built-in AI, and they re-run earlier tasks through natural-language prompts, learning where AI accelerates BIM work and where human judgment stays essential.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Explain core BIM concepts and how an intelligent model carries geometry and data together

Navigate the modernized Revit 2027 interface with confidence, including its updated dialogs and themes

Set up a project correctly using levels, grids, reference planes, and scope boxes

Model and modify walls, floors, roofs, and openings, and understand how these elements interact

Place and manage component families across disciplines

Control element behavior and data using type, instance, and project parameters

Interrogate the model: query elements, extract quantities, and generate accurate schedules

Use the Autodesk AI Assistant to query the model, automate repetitive tasks, and get in-product guidance

Produce coordinated construction documentation, annotations, schedules, and quantity takeoffs from the model
