IOS Partners has appointed DG Jones to serve as a local technical consultant on the Baghdad International Airport New Mission project.
The Baghdad International Airport (BIA) is Iraq's main airport, which, due to a lack of investment, regional issues, and reduced maintenance efficiency over the years, now requires a large-scale redevelopment accounting for rehabilitation, expansion, financing, operation, and future maintenance of the airport to align with Iraq's 2030 Vision for Sustainable Development and government agenda.
As such, the Government of Iraq approached the International Finance Corporation – IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, to act as the lead advisor in structuring and implementing a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) tender.
This tender will be Iraq's first airport PPP project and IFC's first PPP mandate in Iraq. As part of its role as lead advisor for the PPP transaction, IFC requires Consultants to provide technical and commercial support during the implementation of the PPP project.
IFC will carry out detailed due diligence and recommend a suitable transaction structure for the project, building on a pre-feasibility study undertaken by the institution in 2019.
The Technical Consultant, IOS Partners, has appointed DG Jones and Partners as a "Local" technical consultant to assist in the technical and commercial due diligence consultancy services.
