The project consists of the development of the Doha metro line. Phase 1 comprises a 130Km route length (75Km in bored or cut and cover tunnel, trough, or ramp structure, 25Km elevated and 30Km at grad) with 49 stations reaching the motor racing circuit at Lusail, the New Doha International Airport, and Education City. The first phase consists of constructing three out of the four lines (Red, Gold, and Green) and 37 stations.
- Red Line North: 55.7Km, 18 stations
- Red Line South: 42.8Km, 12 stations
- Parts of the Golden Line: 30.6Km, 20 stations
- Parts of the Green Line: 65.3Km, 31 stations.
It also involves the construction of two major metro stations, one located at Msheireb Downtown Doha and another in Education City in Doha. These two stations are the major metro stations as part of the Doha Metro Rail project. The Msheireb station is in Downtown Doha, which is one of the largest metro stations in the world, while the Education City station is connected to the proposed Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) rail network to connect students from across the region to Qatar's higher education hub.
