Situated to the northeast of Manama, the Diyar Al Muharraq development is an ambitious project consisting of seven artificial islands, covering a total area of 12 square kilometers, out of which 10 square kilometers are made up of reclaimed land. This project stands as a testament to visionary urban planning and development within the Kingdom of Bahrain, representing a fully integrated city that seamlessly blends a wide array of modern residential and commercial spaces along with essential amenities.

The scope of the project is comprehensive, encompassing land reclamation and the construction of rock revetments, creating beaches, and developing various types of housing including social housing, affordable homes, and luxury villas. Additionally, the project includes the development of serviced apartments and both primary and secondary infrastructure. Upon its completion, Diyar Al Muharraq is set to feature over 40 kilometers of waterfront property, adorned with sandy beaches. This ambitious development will host an extensive range of critical components, from state-of-the-art educational facilities and schools to medical centers, recreational areas, sports and entertainment venues, community centers, traditional souqs, shopping malls, vast green parklands, hotels, and marinas, making it a comprehensive ecosystem.

DG Jones and Partners have played a pivotal role as the construction consultants for this grand project, overseeing a range of critical phases from the initial reclamation efforts to the full development of the South Island's infrastructure, both primary and secondary. Their responsibilities have extended to the overall construction of a variety of structures and facilities directly developed by Diyar Al Muharraq, including villas, mosques, shops, parks, recreational facilities, and more. Their involvement underscores the project's commitment to quality, sustainability, and community well-being, ensuring that Diyar Al Muharraq not only becomes a landmark development in Bahrain but also sets a benchmark for future urban developments.
