The project entails the comprehensive design and development of the King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone (ILBZ) Concept Masterplan and Infrastructure Design. Initiated by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), this ambitious project kicked off in 2018 and is strategically located in close proximity to KKIA, northeast of Riyadh City. Spanning an expansive built-up area of approximately 2,200,000 square meters, the Masterplan is designed to encompass a wide range of multi-sectional facilities. These facilities are specifically tailored to accommodate product inventory management, maintenance operations, development activities, light assembly processes, and the re-packaging of consumer goods.

In addition to facilitating trade and commerce through the import and export of these products, the Masterplan is meticulously crafted to incorporate a specialized area within the Zone dedicated to a waste recycling facility. This addition is part of a broader strategy to ensure that all essential components and support functions are integrated, thereby transforming the Zone into a self-sufficient, bustling, and dynamic urban center. This transformation is supported by cutting-edge physical, social, and economic infrastructure, setting a high standard for operational and living conditions within the Zone.

The vision for the ILBZ is to position the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a pivotal regional logistics hub with aspirations to elevate its status to that of a global logistics nucleus. This strategic positioning is expected to play a significant role in the Kingdom's enhanced participation and influence in global trade dynamics.
