Known as the watchtower, Qasr Al Hosn Fort was built in 1790 and was the city's first permanent structure. It is the oldest and most significant building in Abu Dhabi, located along Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum St, with an approximate area of 160,000 m2. Over centuries, it was the home for the ruling family, the government, the consultative council, and the national archive, and then in 2018, it was transformed into a museum after more than eleven years of intensive conservation and restoration work. Qasr Al Hosn comprises two major iconic buildings: the Inner Fort and the Outer Palace.

The project consisted of providing consultancy services for the renovation and restoration of Qasr Al Hosn Fort. It comprises the following key components:

  • The original Fort restored as a visitor center
  • The Cultural Foundation Building restoration
  • The National Consultative Council Chamber restoration
  • New urban landscape and the construction of a new Musalla.
  • The Qasr Al Hosn Fort provides a location to commemorate Abu Dhabi's history and a venue for the Qasr Al Hosn Festival and create a cultural heart in the City Centre of Abu Dhabi.
