It is one of the leading hospital providers in the Middle East, managing 12 hospitals, including nine (9) specialist hospitals and three (3) community hospitals, as well as the National Ambulance Service and home and residential care services.
Located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah, together with New Al Hitmi and Fereej Bin Omran, The Hamad Medical City makes up Zone 37 which is administered by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC). It is closely associated with Rumeilah to the east as it also hosts several of HMC's medical facilities.
With a total built-up area of 537,000m², the Hamad Medical City was developed as a leading health system, combining innovative research, top-class education, and excellent clinical care. It consists of more than 44 buildings including hospitals, nurse hostel buildings, married staff housing buildings, an education center, ministry of public health, nurse club, Central Energy Plant (CEP), underpasses as well as other infrastructure systems.
